The End of a Blogging Era
Blogging is a unique form of writing. I feel as though I am speaking with my audience
rather than writing at them. I
appreciate that I can be forward with my blogging tone. I can be conversational rather than
academic. Don’t get me wrong, there is a
definite need for academic voice in the blogging world. I just enjoyed stepping outside of that box
for a time.
Blogging about food has been an interest of mine for
some time. I was very excited when I was
able to make that interest a reality. I
enjoyed every minute of this blogging experience. It connected my passion for gathering recipes
and cooking to my love of writing.
Blogging also incorporated an already established habit of regular journaling. This form of journaling just happened to be
about food and only occurred three times a week.
I hope to continue this blog. I may take a bit of a break during summer
vacation, but plan to start up again during the school year. That is when I will be regularly cooking and
hopefully meal prepping once more. I
will also be paying off each semester and beginning to process my loan
amount. With that, I will be crunching
my meal budget. It’s an especially ideal
time to share my ventures with the food blogging world.
I do plan to continue blogging about budget friendly
meals for young adults. I also hope to
build a second blog for more personal use.
I have been searching for a way to vent my personal journey as a
Christian that goes beyond journaling.
This would be a fantastic way to do just that.
Blogging is a great way to share messages with a large
audience. Long, short, simple, complex,
a blog can be whatever you want it to be.
I love the versatility it has.
While it can be difficult to build a regular audience, it is fun and
exciting to know that somewhere someone may be viewing your work after plugging
in key terms to Google.
I think blogging is a great way to tell and share
stories. We each experience the world differently. Blogging is a form of communication that
allows us to share our thoughts, interactions, emotions, characteristics, experiences,
and lives with anyone on the World Wide Web.
This class did a great job of supplying information
and support to beginning journalists.
While some of us may have done this before, it was a wonderful way to
get started. The textbook was a resource
that I plan to continue using. I have
pages bookmarked that are applicable no matter what blogging venture comes
next. The only aspect of the class that
I didn’t like was the fact that it was online and only six weeks long. I wish I had gotten to experience this course
and my classmates face-to-face. Despite
that, however, I have truly enjoyed taking this course.
Before taking this class, I wish I had known more
about blogging in general. Coming in
blind made me nervous and hesitant as I entered week one. With more knowledge, I could’ve come in with
more confidence. I wouldn’t trade my experience,
though. I have learned so much and hope
to continue utilizing these skills in future blog endeavors.
